Looking good. What are the future plans for the tank, mixed reef?

Nice job so far, so you actually siliconed the tank too? I presume that's 1 big inlet and 4 outlets for the closed loop, and the overflow will be external?

Its going to be an SPS dominated tank. Yes its 1 intake and 6 outputs running with an oceans motions 4 way.
Yes been doing the silicon with help from Simon Clark, i am trying to do the whole tank DIY. Its been a real challenge

Looks good so far, you made a good job of the silicone. It looks a lot taller then 2ft though.

Its 28" high, i want a 2" water depth so i added 4" to hide the brace bars etc. I will be building a pelmet to hide the extra 4"

well i fitted the brace bars last night, and did all the fillet joints, just got to let that cure then i can add the weir box to the back. Then i just have to let the silicon finish curing while i sort all the plumbing and hopefully i will be good to go.

Any updates?

well quite a few updates, more mistakes really, finished the weir and put that in place and that is all set. Put it on the stand in place to find that where i had been messing around during the build the stand was out of shape and the weight had compressed the joints, pushing the tank forward. So i have rebuilt the stand. Next i painted the tank, however i found the gloss was effecting the bits of silcon it was touching so i then stripped that all off.
Decided i would spray paint it, could not get i through the door due to the weir so painted in the kitchen, big mistake, managed to paint the whole house and new cream carpet.

Well the tank is now painted (matches the house now

) and sitting in place, i have started the plumbing but its quite a bit and the xmas break has got in the way

Twistedpro if you don't mind me asking, where did you research the external weir idea? I'm too afraid to drill my chromis tank
Twistedpro

I dont think it would work on the chromis, you need a cut out on the back panel so the water can overflow into the weir, it works on the same principle as an interal weir box except i have stuck it on the out outside to increase space in the tank

Well after 2 days of cutting gluing and banging my head on the stand and getting high on the fumes. I have finished all the plumbing. I am now filling with water and the pump works well and the oceans motions is great the flow is constantly changing and its not too noisy for the living room will post some pictures later
