Hi reef builders,

Im a newbie to the site and just thought it be good to hear others opinions and experiences in keeping a nano marine aquarium.

My gf has just bought me an early bday present. A funky 'curved' shaped tank (made by Clearseal) with matching silver stand. (pics up soon). It comes with a overtank luminaire and a HOB filter (hang over back). The tank is 50l (11g) and stands out from the normal 'cube' style tank.

I already have painted the back glass pane blue, a few hours after bringing it home.

My initial plans are to replace the stock luminaire as I personally don't think it will fulfill a mini reefs needs.

I will add either add a maxi jet 1200 or similar for movement, obviously add a heater and also contemplating adding a protein skimmer?

Any advice on a feasible skimmer for a 50l tank?

Cheers,

David

I've also measured the tank and has a width and height of 40 cm. Obviously the depth changes slightly where the shape curves at the front.

I also manged to take down details of the luminaire >>> Details on the light state 'LIHUADA 11W 6400K'... Any one have opinions on this? icon_rolleyes.gif The lighting tube can be described as a a tube spit in to two. The color is only white in color?
