Hi All,

Well the Lido has been up and running now for about 4 months, everyhting has settled down nicely, and starting to grow out. Still a long way to go, but this is how it looks so far.

Any comment or suggestions welcomed.

Great looking tank there Gary. Is Lido the retail name for the tank?

Until I lived in West Sussex, I'd never heard of the word, apparently refers to widespread municipal outdoor swimming pools!

Hi Mate,

Thanks all for the comments,

yeah, its a Juwel Lido.

I think its a southwest thing, they have them around london as well. I hadnt heard it either until I moved here.

Although Juwel is a German Make, so not sure what it means over there.

Cheers

Tank looks gorgeous. We're just setting up a nanoreef - hope ours ends up looking as good as yours! icon_biggrin.gif

hi, your corals look great!!! Is your torch corals and pulsing xenia hard to keep?
Gary
Hi,

Thanks for the nice comments.

No all the corals have been grown from frags, they have all at least doubled in size.

I dont have a torch, the one front left, is similar to a torch, but it is a mini version of frog spawn, as such.

The Xenia grows quite fast, although it does seem to have calmed down now, which is good.

I did have a torch in my Orca, but I gave it to a mate, it was growing to big in the end.

Cheers

very nice! i particularly like the purple mushies
Gary
Hi Fras,

How you doing, long time no read.

The purple mushy was my first coral in my original Orca, started as a single mushroom about the size of 50p peice.

It has since grown alot, and also reproduced so far 7 other purple mushrooms, I have given away 3 so far.

it looks like it is about to grow some more. The other mushrooms have also spawned multiple times.

Updates to follow soon, I have added some more rock, but I think still kept the open feel. I will post pics when I have finished moving things about.

Cheers

my favourite coral is a candy cane that has grown from jusr 2 polyps into a big ball! The ones that come from nothing are always really cool.

Keep the updates coming it's always good to follow progress.

Hi Rob,

Carbon, I run rarely, mainly just liverock, skimming and Rowaphos.

In terms of flow, I currently have the follwoing,

1 x Stock Juwel powerhead running the filterbox with Liverock Rubble and Rowaphos. (600lph)
1 x Koralia Nano, at the bottom of the tank pointing behind the live rock. (900lph)
1 x Tunze Nano Stream 4500 in the main display (4500lph)

= 50 x tank turnover per hour, 6000lph

This seems to work really well for me, the corals appear to love it.

Cheers
