Tiny Tank
Hi there,

I have LR rubble in my rear chamber. There are inch size pieces about 2/3 the way up. My LR is loose, but the whole chamber is removable, which is useful as every now and again the rubble can use a rinse with disregarded tank water to rid of any detritus build up. Do away with any bio ball or ceramic filter media if you are going to use LR rubble. I keep the other 1/3 space for carbon and phosphate remover, which I keep in media bags. I also use a piece of filter wool at the intake of the rear chamber to scrub larger floating matter, which I change weekly so that nitrates aren't allowed to build up.

Cheers

Rather than order LR rubble, buy a smaller piece of LR then take a mallet/hammer to it. Works jsut as well and your not paying the extra for the 'rubble' in the name.

Personally i'd bag in a very loose mesh bag, it will make rinsing in old tank water much easier.

I just took a 1.5 kilo rock out of my tank and took the hammer to it and used rubble sized between 1/2" to 1" got around 1 kilo from the rock.
