Hi can anyone ID this coral for me?

I have forgotten/misheard what it is.

definately some kind of leather, I find it difficult to tell species. If it's slimey to touch I'd say maybe spaghetti finger, or it looks alot like a colt/cauliflower that isn't fully out.

Maybe one of the others can tell you for definate.

Thanks Fras, yes its a leather, it is slightly slimey to touch. that is it fully out. PC's have been on for a couple of hours when I took the phot. This is the same coral from a slightly different angle.

It's an interesting looking thing, kinda reminds me of a wrinkly hairless cat icon_eek.gif

Are you seeing polyps on the bumps?
DuncanC
Yes the little pink bits are the polyps, have been away at work for the last 2 weeks and disaster, the coral is either breaking up or something is eating it!!
Have moved it further up in the tank and will have to hope for the best. icon_mad.gif

just out of curiosity where did you buy the coral Duncan ???
DuncanC
Bought it from Ultimate Aquatics up in Scotland. Got a bit flustered when buying it (I have got to be less unsure of my reef knowledge!!) and misheard what type of leather it was.
It's looking pretty sorry for it's self, not sure if the small brown(brown/cream and pretty furry) crab in my tank has been having a go. placed the coral on the bottom, with reasonable water movement etc as per what all the books say etc. have now moved it further up - more light, more water movment. It's got another 2 weeks to recover as I'm away again - sailors - ships all that stuff. Here's hoping icon_rolleyes.gif
